My weave project was based on maps. I tried looking at different aspects of maps in each weave.

These weaves were based on a road map of Ireland. I liked the bright colours of the road markings with the neutral green and blue background and decided to include strips of the map within the weave.  They both use the same map but I have chosen to accentuate different colours by using different threads, weighing and pattern.

This weave was based on contour lines within maps.

This weave shows contour lines coming closer and closer together.  I dip dyed the weave to create a deep green that fades to cream.

This weave is not concentrating on the map markings like the previous, but on the landscape. The neutral colours represent lakes and forests. The tubes are stuffed with green wool that is partly pulled through.
